A Conversation for Jimi X's Observatory is Closed

There has been a warning of a geomagnetic storm from NOAA (http://sec.noaa.gov/advisories/200004061951_advisory.html ) and reports of aurora sightings very far south (Paris, S England, Washington DC) http://www.spacew.com/www/auroras.html
If you're interested better look out quickly.
This report was influenced by seeing the above links on Slashdot.I just thought you might like the info here.

Sorry I missed this Phil! They need to figure out a way to let people know when somebody responds to a page.
Anyhow, did you catch any aurora activity? I've only ever seen them once from my latitude (back in the mid-1980s).
Check out the Observatory - it's been updated for June and has a listing for the h2g2 University scheme that Peta plans to announce on Tuesday. We've already begun if you'd like to find out more, just follow the link!
Thanks for stopping by (even if it was a couple of months ago!)!!

I didn't actually see anything (other than the usual skyglow of London). I think I put this in the main observatory thread as well as starting this new one if anyone saw anything.
I've just got my copy of the ham radio magazine I get and the cover photo is taken by a ham based in Oxfordshire and is a wonderful fill of red and green.
I'll check out the university listing thing to see if I can do anything.

My old observatory is closed!
Peta asked me to take over the h2g2 University Observatory
So, that's where you can now go for a sky update!
