vauxhall corsa...help please

hello everyone
just wondering if anyone can give me any help/advice regarding a 1998 vauxhall corsa 1.2.
i was driving to work this morning,turned left on to a main road and i heard a hissing noise somewhere behind me.sounded as if air was escaping somewhere....checked all the tyres including the spare...all ok.
does anyone have any idea what the cause would be or at least point me in the direction of a website which could offer advice?what i know about cars could be fitted on the head of a pin.thanks guys
