Crows and the Goddess

In Irish traditional stories, the beautiful woman could magically turn herself in a Hag.
King Lear
---------
In Shakespeare's play King Lear, the king had three daughters: Goneril, Regan and Cordelia. Cordelia was the maid, but the other two daughters seemed to both be the evil hag. Another name for the hag is Morrigan, which comes from the Irish 'Mór Ríoghan' Great Queen. The name Regan also means Queen, so Regan appears to be the Morrigan. What about Goneril?
Crows
-----
The poor crow. He is reviled as a bird. His harsh voice and his liking for meat have made him a symbol of evil. The crow is the symbol of the Morrigan.
Tolkien
_______
Tolkien doesn't seem to have been happy with writing about women, perhaps because of the all-male society in which he discussed his writings. The Goddess nevertheless makes an appearance in his books as Goldberry, wife of Tom Bombadil, in her aspect as the Maid. She goes out on raining days and makes the plants grow.
