Spike's Promise from season 6 - Afterlife
(Buffy walks into Spikes cript)
(Spike comes up the stairs with a knife in his hand)
Spike - "Buffy, you should be more careful, you never know what kind of villan's got a knife at your back"
(He holds up the knife to show her)
Buffy - "Your hand is hurt"
Spike - "Um same as you"
(She looks at her hands, then hides it)
Buffy - "Right"
Spike - "Willow's getting pretty strong isn't she? Bringing you back, it's hard to get a good nights death around here. You can sit down, got furniture. You should see the downstairs too it's quite posh."
(He walks over to her and sits down)
Spike - "Uh, I do remember what I said, the promise to protect her. If I'd have done that, even if I didn't make it, you wouldn't have had to jump. But I want you to know. I did save you, not when it counted of course but after that, every night after that. I'd see it all again, I'd do something different, faster, more clever, you know. Dozens of times, lots of different ways. Every night I save you!"
