you need to open a thread for it and use the thread number for the guest book

When you start a new conversation there are 7 numbers at the end of the address in the bar, cut and paste them into the space next to FORUM

you know how you started this thread here?
well you need to start one in your own personal space
then you take the number at the end of the thread E.G this thread number is 6492000 you can see it in the window at the top of your page, where you would normally insert a web address

Don't worry, the first time it wanted to make a guest book it took an hour and lots of bad language

This could take some time....
I have sent myself a blank message, I put the code in, type a test message inthe the box in my space, and it just says 'unknown error' when I go to send it....

Does it have a read band across the top with Error has occurred.. Unknown Error?
If so .. that is a problem that has been intermittent on the site.. persevere and return to your Personal Space or use the Back button.
It will clear itself.

The others are giving you bad advice. There are two ways to use the GUESTBOOK (see <./>GuideML-GUESTBOOK</.>
Firstly, you can get people to each start their own threads, typically on your personal space (to which you should be automatically subscribed). That was the way you were initially trying to use it. So with your PS forum number:
<GUESTBOOK FORUM="2005869"
etc
Secondly, you can get people to reply to a single post on a thread of your choosing, typically one you start. Note that this is the *post* number not the *thread* number though. So for the new thread post you made on your own PS:
<GUESTBOOK INREPLYTO="6492032"
etc
The latter version is what the others were so ineptly telling you to do. However, you do not use the thread number and this thread is not 6492000 as claimed by Cal Fortuneswell anyway. It is thread 579032. But you don't really need to know that or your own thread number to use the guestbook properly.
