help me please...

I'm fairly savvy computer-wise (whatever that means) and i'm no guide newbie, but I thought this was as good a place as any to ask. I can't seem to change my password (in fact I don't think I ever typed one in) I change it and it reverts back to whatever it was before (and I have know way of knowing what all those *s are...)this is not a problem as I have the cookie but what about next tuesday when I get my WAP phone???? (eek)any help would be great

If I had a pound for everyone who'd asked me about this, I'd have... oooh, three pounds at least. 
Sorry Bob, the number of *s doesn't actually relate to the number of characters in your password, so you'll probably find that it has changed your password, it just looks like it hasn't.
*thinks that making the number of *s equal the number of characters in the password would be a good thing to add to the official h2g2 to-do list*

It's all wapsilon's fault really. I tried to log on there and it wouldn't let me... which is when i noticed the whole ********* thing... thanks anyhoo
