Since changing from alabaster to goo I'm finding it more difficult to bring up the Who's Online box. I don't know if that's just coincidence - any suggestions? Thanks smiley - biggrin

I'm also having a problem animating smileys. Even when I copy someone's instructions exactly I still get problems. Any completely foolproof instructions? smiley - huh I'm feeling foolish smiley - blue

Animating smileys?

Umm you can't - at least not in forums.

On your homepage you can using the <SMILEY TYPE="rocket"/> tag but that's getting disable soon apparently.

Goo loads more slowly than alabaster so that's probably the reason for your first question. But hey, it looks soooooo much better that it's worth it. imho of course smiley - winkeye

Thanks for that about the smileys - I'll try it out soon. As for the Who's Online - it sometimes works just once and then not again - is that usual?

Yeah that is usual for me. I tend to use the "whose on line"" box as little as possible for just this reason. But on the other hand I use AOL as my browser so I suppose I deserve all the problems I get heaped upon me smiley - sadface

Shame about the tag. Actually there is a community campaign here abouts to preserve it, always supposing that the italics ARE ACTUALLY TAKING ANY NOTICE OF US smiley - steam

(sorry needed to get that off of my chest smiley - blush)

Are you sure that it's not there. If you leave Who's Online, it'll stay in the background, and won't popup if you press it again.
It might be a background window without the focus!

Or even:
I once tried a program which claimed to speed up net access by cutting down on all the advert banners and popup window. This took Who's online out completely! Are you running any of these type programs?

Don't you find that h2g2 slows down considerably occasionally or that your own network hangs?

It's this he's talking about I would guess. Then the Who's Online list turns into '404-error server could not be found' and then stays that way.

Don't worry, we're going to be moving on to the discussion of GuideML 1.0 very soon... and we haven't made up our minds about MARQUEE yet. But we're also not getting involved until we've got the time to make a decision, and it ain't yet...

What about thanking H2G2 Support, just because its not a real name doesn't mean its not a real person. Don't be cruel. smiley - smiley

Titania's right, the last line on your space:
"<SMILEY TYPE="sheep"/>"
Should be:
"<SMILEY TYPE="sheep"/>"
That should do the trick! smiley - smiley

Thanks for that, Jonny and H2G2 Support. My sheep now runs from left to right and looks a lot smiley - biggriner. I tried giving him a friend, but expected them to play 'follow-the-leader' not go trotting along side by side. Any suggestions please?

Not sure, but you could try something like this:

<SMILEY TYPE="sheep"/><SMILEY TYPE="sheep"/>

Might work - but we're no expert on the tag, as we tend not to use it. smiley - erm

Is this what you mean?:
<SMILEY TYPE="sheep"/>
<SMILEY TYPE="sheep"/> BYE FOR NOW!<smiley TYPE="sheep"/>

Note spacing after first smiley! To keep the sheep in phase.
