This season moved the show into more adult territory, whereas once magic was equted with female sexuality, it now become a source of addictions. At first, the most a couple could do was go steady but now the show was mature enough to deal with the issue of marriage and the responsibilties it brought. The theme of the year was the challenges of adulthood, the responsibilities you took on and what you had to leave behind.
A controversial arc took in physical abuse, casual sex and rape, something that could never have happened had the show not moved into adult territory over the past couple of years. The season closed in a reaction to this, demonstrating the value of non-physical love and how it can conquer almost anything!
