Zarquon,
I know nothing about the rankings of angels, that quote was just to mention 'dominations' as it was the first thing returned in a search to check the Milton quote - I didn't even notice the order of the lower ranks - as I remember that bit was from a footnote to the actual article (so I'm blaming that writer
)
It does seem from your links that dominations/dominions are just alternate names for the same thing.

Excellent article. I've read the books many times and have loved them all. Thanks for doing the series justice.

I think what Felonious Monk wrote in paragraph 1 of post 10 and Ivan Terribly wrote in para 2 of 19 are very telling of Sayers' style and the novels themselves. Since there isn't an entry on her at all, it might be worth it to expand the entry a skoosh.

Shouldn't you mention that his degree is in history.
Reading the books is great for your vocab-just get hold of a good dictionary.

I've never read any of these, but your article seems to describe them well. There are a few little spelling mistakes.
impeturbable
independant
dilatante
I'm also not sure about the spelling of whodunits. Should there be two ns in it?

three more things
1. your bit of the entry on the family does not include Lord St George, Wimsey's nephew.
2. When you do Harriet Vane under main characters, shouldn't you mention then that she's got an Oxford degree as well?
3. Isn't Mrs Merdle normaly a Daimler-at least in the 2nd half of the series.

Llama, thanks for picking up on those typos - and yes, the OED does say 'whodunnit'.
Rosemary, Good points, now incorporated (I hope).
