Some Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Shopping Experience
You may consider the location of the store. The relative wealth of the area can correspond to the quality of what people throw out. That means that thrift stores in hipper neighborhoods are more likely to contain more fashionable clothes and funky items.
Watch out for pickpockets because some of these places can be a little scruffy. All you need to do is keep your wallet out of sight and stay alert. Also try to bring a friend or two to shop with you so everyone can look out for each other.
Check out the childrens' section. There is no need for you to spend $20+ on a Paul Frank or Abercrombie and Fitch t-shirt. In the kid’s section you can find both tight shirts with cute designs and shirts with fun advertisements for gas stations, sports teams, and camps that actually exist.
Examine every piece you are thinking of buying for defects. Holes, stains, missing buttons, etc. can seak past your notice if you are not extra careful. The grunge look may be the thing you are going for, but if not don’t waste your money on something damaged.
Be as sure as possible that what you are buying will fit. Some stores may have proper fitting rooms, some will have curtained-off cubby holes for people to try on clothing. Most of the srores I've been to have nothing at all. No one will mind if you try on a sweater in the middle of an empty aisle, just don’t get arrested for indecent exposure, please.
Before you pay, go through what is in your shopping cart one more time. The low prices may result in some inpulse shopping leading to some serious buyers' remorse. Sometimes a green sequin beret will seem like a great find, but this last look will give you a chance to regain you senses.
Therefore enjoy your shopping spree and buy yourself something extra nice with the money you save!
