The most wonderful places in the world (part 2.)

To most citizens of Perth, Hillarys Boat Harbour is definitely not high on the list of most wonderful places in Perth, never mind the world. But, sadly, I don't usually fit into the category of 'most people'.
To the people who actually know where this wonderful little place is, its nothing more than someplace to go on a Sunday when you're hot and bored. To me, its simply my second home. The strange thing is, when you spend so much time in any place, you effectively become part of the scenery. A grain of sand on the little beach that seperates the REAL harbour and the dive shop, from the holiday resort and the nice, little pretend harbour, put there especially for tourists.
This may sound strange, but Sorrento Quay/Hillarys Boat Harbour provides me with a surprisingly large percentage of all the things I need in life at the moment. There's a newsagent to buy my 'Rolling Stone.', a chemist where I can get my hair-dye, a dive shop where I can do the thing that I love second most in the world. My first most loved thing in the world is music, and that occupation is covered by 'Quay Sounds', the record shop. If I'm in a hippie/new-age sort-of mood, then theres the little crystal shop. In short, Sorrento Quay is like a mini shopping mall, but without the thin rich girls wearing relatively no clothing and without the horror of absolutely everything being commercialised. A fun day out for, well….. for loners like myself.
