And This Too Shall Pass Away

Now you see it, now you dont, it all whithers and dies away. Rather humbling when you stop to think about it. You are nothing but dust that took form and intelligence, and shall someday lose everything to return to the dust. Even the memory of who and what you are shall slip into oblivion. All great religions that have risen from time will one day succeed to a wiser, more sensical salvation, and even they will sink back into they from whence they came. All records of anything you can think of will disappear in a time when no one remembers or cares anymore, music included. That makes me sad, that one day Beethovens fifth symphony will no longer float around in the minds of anybody, not even the highly educated.
There are some things I wish would pass away sooner than others, like country music and spam, and it will, and good riddance when it does. But with the death of that we hate often follows the death of what we love, and lord knows we dont want that to happen, but it will.
Its a good phrase to repeat to yourself as a sort of a mantra when the world hangs dark and heavy over your weary soul.
'And this too shall pass away.'
