SOME THINGS ONE OUGHT TO KNOW ABOUT THE MELBOURNE HERALD-SUN
* Rupert Murdoch controls the Melbourne Australia Newspaper, the Herald-Sun.
* Rupert Murdoch is seen by some as a man totally bereft of conscience or principles, with just two aims in life: money and power.
* Rupert Murdoch renounced Australia to take up citizenship in the USA in order to make more money.
* Rupert Murdoch is infamous around the world for the poor standards of his newspapers and is the main man responsible for the establishment of and the strength of the "Gutter Press".
* Rupert Murdoch employs editors and underlings who will act as his pawns and promote his own personal interests.
* Rupert Murdoch exerts more power over Australian politics than our politicians will care to admit. This is why he seeks to to have the media ownership restrictions relaxed so that he he can obtain yet more power.
* Although the Melbourne Herald-Sun is aimed at those at the lower intellectual end of the market, it is a perfect means for Murdoch to promote the interests of Big Business and the super-rich in Victoria. That is why the Herald-Sun supported the recent Kennett Government and its privatisation agenda. This is also the reason why the Herald-Sun has continually overlooked the actions of the Kennett Government, which harmed ordinary Victorians, such as the destruction of public health and education, the damage to police and emergency services, government secrecy and corruption, community neglect, etc. etc. etc.
