Jezza's Exiles (Jeremy Vine Message Board)
Created | Updated Feb 18, 2007
Jezza's Exiles is a messageboard created by one of the listeners to the Jeremy Vine show on Radio 2, who was also a regular poster on the BBC message boards as Belly-Dancing Goldfish.(BDG) She created it in December 2006 when the BBC closed a number of their programme message boards. She has also created a website Jezza's Exiles which explains about the messageboard and the reasons why it was created.
It was created primarily for listeners to The Jeremy Vine Show to comment on the show and dicuss topics mentioned there including events in the news and current affairs. Also to keep contact between posters who had established friendships through posting on the BBC boards Within two months it has 285 registered members and over 51,000 posts.
During those two months it has blossomed into a large Forum, with a number of sections. As well as discussing Jeremy Vine's show and News and Current Affairs, in The Entertainment section posters can also chat about other Radio Shows and Stations and TV Programmes on any Channel, and also discuss all types of Music from Disco to Classical
There are also sections for discussing the following subjects
·Books and Poetry
·Cookery recipes
·Sport
There is a special section on
Allotments and Gardening as
Jeremy Vine's programme has a
regular monthly feature on this subject, presented by Terry Walton from his own allotment in the Rhondda Valley in South Wales. As a result of his broadcasts on the programme he has appeared in two series of television programmes 'Going to Seed' on ITV1 Wales and 'The Big Dig' on BBC 2. which were filmed there .He has also written a book about gardening which will be published in April
There is also a Pub,
The Drum and Monkey,
where most subjects
can be discussed
and where they hold
a Pub Quiz.
It is a very well managed board and, as time goes on, it will hopefully attract many more members and go from strength to strength, whilst still keeping the friendly atmosphere it now has.
