Level 42 were a group who managed to make a fantastic noise in spite of several hints that would lead one to expect the contrary.
Firstly, they are from the Isle of Wight, and secondly, they didn't drink or take drugs.
The Bass player had a strange technique of playing so many notes in each bar that even Disaster Area's accountants would have struggled to count.
The keyboards player didn't realise that he looked a prat a lot of the time, and most of their music (when the tablature is studied) consists of chord sequences that are not theoretically correct.
I like them.
