The Third Law of Thermaldynamics.
Created | Updated Sep 21, 2005
You really need to know all three laws. Then when the conversation suddenly drops at a party you can shout out
“Hey! Who knows the three the laws of thermodynamics?”
<dog> First Law
Energy exists in many forms but is never created nor destroyed.
There is sun, then grass, then cows, then bones, which I eat.
I can then walk, keep warm and what is left I pant out in heat and place in rather neat little piles in the garden.
Einstein worked out an equation about the relationship between walking and bones or energy and matter e = mc2
<dog> Second Law
This says that if it is cold out side you won’t get warm by leaving the door open and that if everyone in the galaxy left every door open then everywhere in the galaxy would end up the same temperature.
<dog> Third Law
Says that when everything is spread out across the universe and it all stops moving the temperature will be 0 degrees kelvin or absolute zero. At the moment it is about 2.7 degrees Kelvin. So, not far to go.
In the end there will be no more sun, grass, cows, bones or me. All that will remain will be uniform neat little brown piles evenly spaced throughout the universe
