Earth Comedy Part II

Continuing from where I left off, we come to the subject of Puns.
An obvious pun:
SANTA: Let's get out there and sleigh them.
Not so obvious pun:
MAN: What's wrong?
ATOM: I've lost an electron!
MAN: Are you sure?
ATOM: Yes, I'm positive!
Puns are usually word play, and involve a word sounding similar to another word being used in it's place while still making sense, or a harmless sentance, which, when put used in a certain context, have an entirely different meaning. You will find examples of both above. Personally I hate puns, so I will not discuss them any further.
A very popular form of humour is stand up comedy, where you take everyday facts and "Funny things that happened to you on the way to the Pub," and making something funny out of them.
Unfortunately, there is a slightly less amusing form of stand up comedy, where the comedian takes a word from the audience and uses it in an old joke. Eg.
AUDIENCE: Llama.
COMEDIAN: Why did the llama cross the road? To spit on the person at the other side!
I don't really find this form of comedy amusing, but, each to his own, as they say.
On the subject of chickens, a great many forms of humour seemed to have evolved from one single joke, a joke that I'm sure many of you will know, and that I will not even need to tell you, because you already know. So I won't.
Oh very well: Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side.
There have been a great variations on this theme, and there is one relavent one, which I find very amusing.
MAN: Why did the chicken cross the Road?
DOUGLAS ADAMS: Forty-two.
All I'd like to care is, who cares about the bloody chicken anyway? Why are we so obsessed with the doings, of a chicken? Why??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/
Ahem. Anyway...
Another form of humour is... what? But I don't need to! THey already... what? What! Mother! Please don't talk about Sharon that way! We're getting married and that's that! At least she's a better person than you! Yeah! Well I don't care if you say that to my friends at school! Yeah!
What was I talking about? Er... Damn.
Another form of humour is when someone is apparently having a conversation with someone who isn't there, and is merely providing one end of the conversation. This can be amusing when the person is doing this in a public place with no prior reason. Also, by providing clues to what the other person might be saying, the audience has to work out what it is the other person was saying, and often come to amusing conclusions.
In conclusion, Whichever way you look at it, the internet is a confusing place.
Whoops.
In conclusion, whichever way you look at it, comedy is a confusing thing.
Ahh, stuff the conclusion. Bye.
