Carl Sagan
1934 AD - 1996 AD

Carl Sagan was the first science fiction fan to become a scientist.

Unlike other boring old fart scientists who sit around thumbing their noses at the public like a bunch of performance artists with NEA grants, Carl loved teaching anyone and everyone who would listen just how really cool science is.

His many books included:

Cosmos: Science = Beauty = the Universe. 'Nuff said.

Braco's Brain: Learn about your simian ancestry.

The Demon-Haunted World: Use your brain for more than just playing solitaire with Tarot cards.

Contact: Out of which a decent movie was made.

He also has a web site dedicated to him, but, alas, it is not a very good one.
