Ormondroyd Posted Mar 8, 2000
I would imagine that here you're referring to their presence in the headlines yesterday, as potentially dangereous objects when taken away from supermarkets and dumped carelessly. I think people should stop being so lazy and take 'em back. So there.
(I live directly opposite a supermarket, so it doesn't affect me).

I blame the students. Not that I have ever pushed anyone around in one on my way to, from or in between any student party in my entire live.

A light summer ale, if you please, barkeep!
Where did all these rabbits come from?
And who left all these raisins on the bar?

Yes, I'd heard that.
(There's a link to an entry on it and other historical foods and beverages at the Food & Drink wing of the h2g2 Historical Society: http://www.h2g2.com/A261613 )
