The dark, inacessible recesses of a dearly beloved old pub

*rapidly hundles (?!) along behind the lath and plasterwork, darts down a crack in the wall and under the floorboards and comes face to face with a Borrower*
'Wohoo!'
'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!'
*they both turn to run, but the specs snag on some string, flip over and lie facing the floorboards, through which familiar faces are peering. One of the specs' arm ear-end things starts to glow red. The Borrower looks on*
'Spectacles phorn horm' (was ET from Yorkshire?)
*the heads start to shake, and one by one move away. The glow slowly subdues. The Borrower, seeing the sorrowful look in the specs lenses, cautiously goes over and rights them. The specs give her a hug, and with a new-found purpose, help her to move 12 bobbins. They part ways, and the specs bide some time hurtling round and doing sit-ups, in a bid to build up some specs pecs Unfortunately, Bo the cat hears this, and starts scratching at the floorboards. The specs dash along under the floor and out of an airvent*

I'm looking for Heikki Lunta. He needs to go back home so I can put my shovel away! Stop that dancing. Enough!

*shines torch about and clears a few cobwebs*
Where did this one come from?

Someone (Heikki Lunta) has been dancing in this dusty corner. As a result, I have recieved 19.4 inches of snow in 24 hours. If I can coax him back into the sauna (where dancing is strictly prohibited), I can begin digging out.
I hate to bring this up but a lager goes down quite easily in the sauna.

*goes over to Menza and waves a towel over him to revive him, disturbs the surrounding dust and explodes sneezing*

It worked though, didn't it? *goes and collects his filling and starts hunting round for his half-walnut*

(was going to add a bit more to that last post but I thought just the three words gave it a sort of poetic balance )

is your essential organ feeling suitably rested? We never found out who this Heikki Lunta is and why he/she/it has created 19.4 inches of snow under the floorboards...

Heikki Lunta is a fictious Finnish Snow God that was invented in Houghton, MI, USA. St. Urho, the fictious Finnish Saint who drove the grasshoppers out of Finland was invented in Minnesota, USA. Do we have to do everything for the Finns?
