Righto, I've gone ahead and updated all the lists of Entries. I've included all the Entries of the Month, plus some others that turned up in the shortlists.

Me too, though I'll happily remove it if anyone objects to my self-referencing.

If it's been voted as Entry of the Month, then I don't think they've a right to object to your self-referencing.

No, it was one of the "others that turned up in the shortlists."

I've no objections. Well, actually I object to wearing socks with sandals, but as far as this Entry is concerned I think it's top ho old bean, but how do we go about getting it there? It's really an Update of a Help Page, so should it be picked by a Scout? Not really...
I think it might need an actual email to the Eds once everyone is happy - what say you?

Yep, I think an email would be in order.
I'll stop making changes, but is everyone happy with this?

Two things:
1200 words --> 1,200 words
I'm not sure that "Envy-Free Cake Division" is appropriate as an example of a succinct entry. It's over 2,000 words long!

I'm happy with this now, Alex.

Right, I've sent an email to the Editors: Dear h2g2 Editors Back in May I decided to 'sub-edit' one of the help pages - http://www.h2g2.com/Writing-Guidelines . I did so without altering the meaning of the guidelines, though I have reduced the wordiness (1,830 words --> 1,727 words), reordered the guidelines into four clear sections, and replaced the example Entries with recent ones (including all the new Entries of the Month). The Entry can be found at http://www.h2g2.com/A18584058 and the Peer Review thread is at http://www.h2g2.com/F48874?thread=5475211 (though the first page is mostly tangents). I'd be very grateful indeed if you might consider replacing the existing version with the update. Many thanks, Alex Ashman U566116

Woohoo! and one of mine is in there as an example of a really well-researched Entry (The Decipherment of Linear B).

And the vampire one wasn't a labour of love, it was my Uni paper, translated and slightly reworded
But well done, Alex! It was about time.
