No There's Such As Number Thing Random A

1 Conversation

Random numbers are one of the Holy Grails of computer theory, which currently states that there's no such thing. Since there's no such thing as the Holy Grail either, that's hardly surprising, although it might come as a surprise to those of you who, for whatever peculiar reason, use the RAND() function in your boring bloody spreadsheet programs. Why is there no such thing as a truly random computer-generated number? Because. Just because, okay? If anyone asks, just say that it's all about aleatorics, then fall silent with an enigmatic smirk. Trust me. Would I lie?
