Pork Pies and Mushy Peas

2 Conversations

A 'delicacy' of the North and West Yorkshire regions of the UK, consisting of warm Pork Pie (reprocessed pork, encased in jelly and a pie crust), covered with hot mushy peas (processed marrowfat peas) and traditionally flavoured with mint sauce. Most typically served in old-fashioned public houses, working mens clubs, lower division football grounds and Rugby Clubs.
A fast, cheap snack, not ideal hangover food.
