I saw two butterflies enjoying the sun today. I wonder if that is the latest in the season, that butterflies have been seen around in this area.

Today something unusual happened in my garden. For the first time, is saw a Jay splashing about in my birdbath. Usually a nervous bird, it seemed totally relaxed and bathed for 5 minutes before flying off. :)

This morning, just before i was due to go out - i was looking out the window and saw a magnificant sight.
2 male pheasants were in the front garden below me. They were in prime condition. there plumage glowing with health.
I rushed and got my camera to take a couple of snaps. One legged it accross the green into another garden, but i managed to get a couple of pics of the other one. <cool>

I found a rare ladybird at work today. It was so pretty, apricot coloured with cream spots. At first i thought it was an orange ladybird, i've since found out that it is acutally and albino ladybird. <magic>

A male pheasant visited my garden today, in fact he visited 3 gardens :) What a magnificant bird. He explored and pecked around on the grass, before disappearing into a neighbours garden. <magic>

I had a close encounter with some longtailed tits today.
I was waiting at a bus stop to go for some blood letting. The bus stop does'nt have a shelter, it's just surrounded by some Blacthorn hedges.
Anyway, about half a dozen of the little birds landed in the hedge. They were no more than 2 foot away from me. They were so cute, all calling to each other and picking at the buds on the hedge. It lasted only a couple of minutes, before they all flew off to another hedge <magic>

While on the bus comming home from my daughters, i saw something that really astounded me. Amongst some other bare trees, i saw a small prunus - it was in full blossom. I could'nt believe what i was seeing, this little tree flowering for all it was worth, while the other trees were bare of any leaves or
flowers. Truely remarkable. :)

It was a glorious day today, the sun was shining and the temperature pleasantly warm. So warm that it bought out a butterfly, it was basking in the warm sun on the fence. Delightful! <biggrin>

It looks like spring has sprung a bit early this year. While wandering around my garden and checking the growth of various plants, a bumblebee was taking advantage of the nectar from my winter honeysuckle. Thats the first one i've seen this year <magic>

It's funny how talking about a particular thing can make it happen. I saw my very first Blackcap today. It was a lovely experience to be serenaded by the member of the warbler family <magic> I was only talking about that particular bird with a friend yesterday <spooky>
