Ecstasy - The real world and its artificial world

1 Conversation

People in the real everyday world, walk around, doing their daily business in the streets, offices and other public places studiously ignoring everyone whom they don't know, not acknowledging others existance, as if they were invisible. On the bus or tube are other great examples. I figure this really sucks, and yet realise that its not realistic to expect everyone to start smiling and interacting with each other.

On the other hand, when everyone is in a small environment like a club with some ambiant music and an over supply of seratonin, the conditions become right, because everyone in there is in the same frame of mind as you, inhibitions are dropped, smiles bloom from every corner, repression fades into the darkness, where you assume the walls start. The complete stranger interaction is possible because of everyones similar mindset. You don't have to worry about looking at someone and smiling, cause everyones doing it, and its the most natural thing in the world. You're going to be bounding up to people, and they're going to be bounding up to you, its the way it goes, it becomes the social norm.

I'm not saying we ought to regress into this world full time, because its not real. It is heartening to see that it is within the realms of humanity and culture that people from everywhere can come together and have a serious all encompassing 'love' vibe. It only works with like minded people (in this case E'ed) in a cosy, comfortable environment. And these restrictions aren't feasible in todays world where we repress actions and feelings and desires... but there is a place you can do it.
