Technology and apathy

0 Conversations

The more I think about it, the more I think that as time goes on, and
technology increases, people are going to become more and more apathetic. I think of things like transport and telecommunications making it easy to contact people and TV, videos and computers (especially the internet) for entertainment instead of traditional socialising.
What I think this is all regressing to is an increased level of apathy, because of the ease of alternative options and past times, people shall become more lazy as technology (which is growing at a fearsome rate) increases.
Our next decade will make the MTV/Generation X generation look like adrenalin charged young go-getters.
We're doing very well in making things easy for ourselves through the use of technology. But also, aren't we depending on our not-so-human characteristics to become lazy and decadent with the new changes just a little too much?
