I'm sorry if I have to post a real pet hate here, but we have had GUI (Graphical User Interfaces) around for about 20 years, but still most PC's take an age to boot up, with their little beeps, grunts and snarls taking on average 2 or 3 minutes before you can ever even point and click at anything practical!
Why, oh why, has somebody not fixed this problem and allowed us to go straight into our applications straight away? I mean they've had 20 years to fix it! NASA only needed 9 years to plonk people on the moon!
I know there are two possible answers already, ie. "Bill Gates" and "Microsoft", but is there some other reason?

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
