The Student Union is an institution in British Universities that is most well known for its bar, night-club and shopping facilities. This is unfortunate, because it completely ignores the vast amount of work that goes on behind the scenes in unions. Adminitration, welfare, campaigns, organising support for societies and countless other things depending on the University.
