Bass players

On the earth we have several music instruments - pianos, saxophones, trumpets, harps, violins and guitars to mention a few. When played at, the sound of music instruments put people in certain moods. If a drummer, guitarist and bassist start jamming, this can cause the most different reactions, dependent on how old the audience is.
People older than 65 years will probably - if they are able to - walk away in despair and think back of the waltzy, Straussy tunes of their youth.
People between 40 and 65 years will probably thump the rythm with their left or right foot and smile uncertainly and pretend to like it while longing for the sickening sound of a devoted swedish dance band
People younger than 40 will do anything from killing eachother or themselves to making love with complete strangers.
Music has got people by the balls.
But what is it with music?
Why do people dance, laugh, cry or dress in tuxedos and sit down in ancient operahouses with tickets more expencive than russian cars in order to listen to 60 persons playing and the same tune at once?
Why are skilled guitarplayers more able than others to make the prettiest girls tremble with lust?
It's bacause of the bass player. He (very rearly she) normally stands at the back with an ironic grin on his face, pounding his four-string like a metronome, always being accurate with rythm and holding the whole s**t together.
Nobody reckongnices him. Nobody takes notice of an extraordinary delicate lick where he sinks a minor and lifts a major with a feeling and precicion a surgeon would envy. Nobody is aware of the fact that music would be bloodless, thin and pointless without him - without the fundamental groove of a dedicated bass player.
If he stops playing, people hear that something is missing, but they are not aware of what this something is.
The reason a bassline is part of any music, is the reason why concrete is essential when building houses. Without it it would fall down.
But what do people see or hear?
They see colour of the paint on housewalls like they hear the masturbating guitarsolos of the guitarplayer, they see the many windows of the house like they hear complex chords of the piano player, and they neglect the solid concrete walls underneath it all lke they neglect the rock bottom bassline.
Bass players are the Living Lords Of Low Frequencies.
They are the glue of music and should never be forgotten.
