Yeovil - what's it all about then?
Yeovil is a small town in Somerset, England, most famouse for being a small town in Somerset, England.
Actually, it's home to the massively popular Westland Helicopters, those purveyors of fine aerospace devices.
If you ever want to visit Yeovil, change your mind very quickly, as it's not exactly the most exiting town in the world (unless you happen to be from Hicksville, USA, in which case it probably is).
Where to drink
Not that I'm an alcoholic, I hasten to add, but I do occasionally fequent the drinking establishements of Yeovil. If you're after a good, cheap pint, don't bother, as I am sure that there is a drinks cartel operating in Yeovil, keeping prices exorbitantly high. However, if you like Guiness, you can't do much worse than Porter Blacks (AKA the Irish Pub) or The Butcher's Arms (if you want a really fun atmosphere, that is!).
Where to eat
Like all good provicincial towns with no atmosphere, we in Yeovil pride ourselves on our selection of crappy take-aways. We have no less than three Palmers Fish and Chip (restaurants?), and several dodgy Indian curry type places. But the ultimate place to eat (only on a Friday night after several large beers) has to be the Yeovil Kebab House, where you can get a fine Onion Bahji and still have change left over for your taxi home.
What to do when you get here
Leave again soon afterwards.
