Chillingham castle in Northumberland, UK , is a stunning medieval fortress and one Britain's few remaining treasures. Having under gone a major restoration project, Chillingham is open for public visiting despite still being a family home. It has belonged to and been the home of the families of the Earl's Grey for over 600 years.

History



Built as a stragecially placed stronghold in the 12th century, Chillingham became a fully fortified castle in the 14th century.
