In addition to being a philosopher, Smullyan is an author, professor of mathematical logic at Indiana University, and one-time magician.<p>
His best book, <i>The Tao Is Silent</i>, is a series of articles about Taoism, an ancient philosophy/religion which suggests, among other things, that paying attention to one's innate wisdom is a good way of conducting one's affairs.<p>
