If you see a new smiley in a conversation that you want to know how to do you can click on it and it should take you to a page detailing how to make it appear as if by

OK so they haven't actually updated the links yet and you still have to look for it. Once you get to the smiley page you have to look in the sub categories by clicking on the respective link.

Hopefully the links will be updated soon but what with fewer bods and the current upgrade it may be a while.
