severe misconceptions as to how to prepare food, I shall point out what barbecue is so
that if others insist on putting the word on a sign (roll-away sign preferable), they may have
some chance of accuracy. Barbecue involves brisket or sausage smoked for extended periods
of time over mesquite or pecan wood. Barbecue is not high school cafateria style sloppy joe
sandwiches slathered in a ketchup based sauce, nor is it burgers thrown on a grill, that being
grilling, not barbecueing. The appropriate seasoning would be a salt and pepper dry rub, not
some form of tomatoe based molasses. Green beans, fried okra, tater salad, and cole slaw
are appropriate side dishes. Brie and pickled herring are not appropriate. Beer is a fine
finishing touch to the meal, no light/lite beers need apply.
