Pretty dry subject matter, but I don't know the man who can make economics fun. But it does the job it set out to do, so here's a 7 for your Christmas tree.

Thanks GB! I'll put it right next to the candle so it gets plenty of light....
I'm thinking about a rewrite (maybe after it gets rejected) to inject some more life into the topic...I kept it short (and dry) so as not to lose reader interest along the way!

I thought this was very well written and informative. it quite succinctly states what supply and demand is all about and I like the wry comment at the end. I'd give it a 9.

First off, I like the choice of subject matter. The new format looks good.
Perhaps you might want to consider changing the wording:
"There is one basic rule of economics which if you understand you should be able to figure out how the financial world works (to a degree) on this world - the laws of supply and demand."
to something along the lines of:
"There is one basic set of economics rules which you must understand to figure out how the financial world works on this world - the laws of supply and demand."
Why? Well... you've laid it out as more than one rule, and even stated it as 'laws' so "one rule" is grammatically incorrect. Also it is a bit confusing if you don't already know what's being said.
In rule one, "The more you want to buy something" should probably be "The more customers want to buy something" both to keep in harmony with rule two and to be technically correct.
Rule six: A bit confusing: Are you implying that there is no free enterprise system on earth, or that a free enterprise system is nearly everywhere on earth?
I know you state it later on in the next paragraph, but perhaps the rule could be adjusted to read a bit clearer?
Hmm... In fact, perhaps you should just leave six as "None of these rules apply in the absence of a free enterprise system" and leave your opinions to the next paragraph?
All in all a very good article.

Very informative article. I think that this makes a good entry, because it actually teaches you (well, me actually) a few things about the law(s?) of supply and demand. No spelling mistakes as far as I can see.
An 8.
Hey mouse, can I just say: excellent critique! It is exactly the kind of thing I aspire to - constructive without being overly critical. As I never said in school: teach me, please!

*blush* ... I was worried that it would seem like I was trying to re-write it.. I wasn't -- -honest-!!

I didn't notice that my comments were missing!
Sorry Mouse!!!!!
I've been noticing a lot of weirdness (unrelated to researchers) recently on h2g2. I hope the server can handle the strain of all these new researchers!
Anyway, what I wanted to say was that your criticism of that first sentence was right on the money, I never was satisfied with the way that parenthetical clause broke up the train of thought of the main sentence, and using the word "world" twice in the same sentence as well!
The rest of your comments were equally valid and I plan to incorporate them as soon as the run is over!
Thanks!
And sorry about that missing posting!!!

Dry humour, which I happen to be a fan of. Sloppy first paragraph could do with reorganising. 8.

You may like to add some comment on economists.
They are so busy trying to convince people economics is a real science and not pseudo mumbo-jumbo that they seem to be the only people not affected by the real world of supply and demand.
I liked the overall concept. 71.34%

Looney:
I'd rather like to leave the economists alone as they got bashed a few weeks ago in another guide entry. But thanks for the advice and the review!!

I didn't like the way the first paragraph was broken into a couple of different thoughts. And I thought you mixed up the plural thing with one rule, the laws of supply and demand. Kind of confusing.
But when you got rolling, it really picked up. Sort of a dry topic, but there was a wry sense of humor under it all, not as slapstick as How to be a fool, but good!
Fix the first graph and I'd give it an 8 or a 9!
Nice work with a stinker of a topic!
