(or Crayfish disc literally translated) August is the time for this Swedish excuse for drinking a lot of vodka. Wearing silly small paper-hats and bibs,people are seated round tables outdoors.In the trees they hang papermoons and various lanterns.The smaller lake and river crayfish are preferred,but sea crayfish will also do.They are boiled with dill and the river variant get a shiny red colour.There are special tools made for eating them,like the Clawcracker.A loud sucking noise can be heard then the juice in claws and heads are sucked out.For every claw there ought to be at least one small glass of vodka.But before drinking one have to sing.There are a lot of short cheerfully songs for the occation,which all are about alcohol.Common phrases are: sing hoppfallerallanley and Watch out downthere! 'cause he's coming now.
