Leek, Staffs, UK: Queen of the Moorlands

It is a little known but non-the-less refreshingly interesting fact that the little dangly bits found encircling the bottom of posh lampshades are manufactured in Leek, Staffordshire. (Not far from "The Potteries")

LEEK
*One small market town in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
*One main street with lots of little ones off it.
*One Woolworths and One Boots but NO Comet, Currys, Dixons, M&S, BHS, C&A,Body Shop, Debenhams, W H Smith, Menzies, ToysRus, Sainsburys, Tescos, etc etc - I could go on!!
*Lots of banks for rich farmers.
*Lots of charity shops for poor farmers.
*One award winning tea shop(Greystones).
*Lots of antique shops.
*Lots of Pubs (Try the BLUE MUGGE).
*One market square - market day on Wednesday - great atmosphere.
*One butter market - just been renovated.
*Lots of Traditional buildings everywhere but one 1960's cock up.
