I am now using a free web-base email service called Vivao which you can get from http://www.vivao.co.uk
It also has a great feature it that they give you a telephone number. Anyone can leave a voicemail message or send a fax to this number. The voicemail or fax is then sent to your email address. You can have the email messages read by a computer voice if you phone the number. You can also access the email from ordinary email programs such as Outlook.
One reason I prefer it to Hotmail is that if you add a POP account and choose to leave messages on the server it will not re-download a message from that account if it has already been downloaded which Hotmail does. The only slight problem I'm having is accessing the number from my mobile phone (which would be useful because I could then divert my phone to that number when it is busy).

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
