The trick to traversing the tube is this - if you're going to be making more than 2 journeys in a day (as most tourists normally do), you're best off buying a travel card. This saves you a) money and b) lots of time queuing for tickets. If you get stuck and haven't got a clue, just repeat the phrase - "Tourism is easy" over and over to calm yourself down as you search madly for the right exit. And don't forget a towel.
