Radiohead are in my opinion the most consistently inspired band to appear in at least 10 years (missing out stone roses). there five man line up of friends who grew up in oxford and i believe went to the same school mostly first formed a band called On a friday because yes that's right they played on a friday. So somehow they chose the name Radiohead from a talking heads album track, and one thing leading to another, as it most certainly did, they released their first album Pablo Honey in March 1993,after what I believe was their first release, the 'Drill EP' in 1992. The unfortunate track order and presence of songs such as 'You' next to those such as 'Creep' certainly didn't dissuade some people from dismissing them as yet more indie chancers and one-hit wanders. Especially when creep was such a big hit especially in America where they are still known today as 'The creep guys'.
