Daleks are quite possibly the silliest villains ever - essentially, they are gigantic, psychotic pepper-pots. Not just that, but they were originally defeated by the placement of rubber mats on the floor!
I don't know how they could possibly conquer the universe, when they wouldn't even be able to conquer my house - what with it's dalek-defeating combination of carpet and a staircase.
