Poisoning Things...

2 Conversations

Here's a question, to which I would love an intelligent answer, that has puzzled me for quite some time. It regards the inherent tendency of animals other than humans to eat things, and make them selves ill. For example, my dog regularly eats leaves - and without fail will bring them up again shortly afterwards. Why do they do this??? Do they enjoy poisoning themselves? We, as humans, the most advanced lifeform on the planet feel no calling to do this, so why do dogs? It is a known fact that dogs are meat-eaters. they eat meat. they enjoy meat. So why eat non-meat? Are they trying to copy us eating our salads on a summers day? It is all very confusing to me! Do other animals do the same thing?
