Dreams

1 Conversation

Dreams are the subconscious's way of giving the "Huh?" muscles in the brain a workout. Whilst you would almost certainly never be seen trying to fill a church with water, running naked through city streets, trying to build an igloo out of string or tying a dog to a hot-air balloon, all of these things could occur in a dream, whether you wanted them to or not.

If just being totally weird wasn't enough, dreams are also characterised by a total lack of continuity. One moment you could be riding a horse, the next you could be in the office, maybe on the horse, maybe not. Sometimes you can recognise fragments of things you've done or thought about during the preceding day, but more likely your dreams will come straight from the Asymmetrical Cupboard Of The Somewhat Peculiar.

It has been claimed that by using a technique called lucid dreaming, you can take control of what happens in your dreams. However, whether anyone would really want to be in control of a dream about an office block full of sheep is a moot point.
