had a dream. A series that told a story. He devised the interweaved
plot that would last for 5 years. In each season 22 episodes of 50 mins.
5 seasons which made a total of 110 episodes. This series became known
for its innovation and its hard to follow story lines. It broke from
the star trek tradition of nice little episodes with no real inter-
crew problems and everything being resolved by the end of the episode.
In this series it was true to life, a more pesimistic view of what we
will be like in the future. War, drugs, poverty, completely the opposite
of the star trek ideal. But hidden in this pesimistic view was hope.
Hope that in the end humans have a gift that should be prised above
all others. Our compassion, love and caring. It was a miracle that
strackinski was able to finish this epic, but he did. It is a great
acheivment but never got the aclaim it deserved because few people
actually watched it all. But for those who did, it had a profound
impact on their lifes.
