String Theory is an explanation for the being of atoms. Many guide researchers for the Guide suspect it got its name when a hoplessly fatigued physisist was looking for something to call his new theory and suddenly his cats ball of yarn hit him on the head.
No seriously, its just some random theory that says that all particles are made up of tiny vibrating strings. wow, so if your hand is twitching maybe its just those strings.
