These "books" are actually super powerfull pan-dimensional beings. They along with encyclopedias and thesaurus's are the greatest sources of knowledge in the universe ( except for of course The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy). They annually meet at a senate where they debate matters of word origins, grammer and should they get a new coffeee machine in the "Pan-dimensional super beings official waiting lounge" because its broken and the mice can't reach the buttons anyway.
