How big a role should be granted to “The State”?

You know what...if some new Maggie were to roll into town, I betcha all these types who are oh so, oh so, objectively arguing against state power, would be wetting themselves arguing for greater power to be concentrated in a powerful state leader.
I can actually imagine some of the real nut bars, no-one here of course, arguing for a restoration of monarchial power if a new Elizabeth I were to come along.
I don't reckon its the state that some extremists object to, but democracy itself.
