A dissertation on Unemployed life
Created | Updated Oct 20, 2010
Unemployed life has been considered a leech on the side of the social system for some time now, and as statistics have proved, the British government is losing money hand over fist to social security leeches.
However, as 98.2% of stastics are made up on the spot¹ and 40% of all people know stastics can say anything they want², I say "Just live with it!"
The social security system in the UK is very much like a Nutri-Matic Drinks dispenser. They spend lots of money, trying to find out just how much you are entitled to, then give you the basic flat rate of £162.80 per month, paid Fortnightly.
So, that means every other week you get £81.40 to live on. I know it's not much, but after you've paid your bills and bought food, you have £2.10 (If you're lucky) to spend on looking for jobs and travel to interviews and getting some decent clothes.
Add it all together, and in about 40 years you might be able to buy a new pair of trousers, but you can't do that, as they claim you're "Not actively searching for work", and cut your allowance.
Now this may seem unfair, and to be honest I don't know why the UK government do it. It only seems to perpetuate the situation. So, in general, what is my adivce for those wishing to become unemployed?
DON'T! Try something easier, like breaking a few bones to keep you in Incapacity benefit, which pays exactly the same amount, but means you don't have to prove you're looking for work.
