Hair

However, early humans couldn't seem to get enough hair. They would go out and steal the hair, literally off of the backs of other creatures that had more.
Only in the past century have humans nearly ceased this mindless hair snatching that always ended in the death of the snatchee. Heaters, insulation, and fake hair have been invented to make the need for more real hair less.
The human male still feels the need to have hair covering his head. So when he starts to lose his hair he goes out and buys fake hair. He does not realize that no one other than himself gives a flying rat's arse how much hair he has. So to humans hair has little more than personal psycological value.
Many many creatures have hair, for example: Cats, dogs, apes, monkeys, bigfeet (sasquatch, skunkape etc etc...), mayonaise (when left in the sun), rabbits, wookiees, Carrot Top, and so on...
