This earthly paradise was founded in 1781 by Franciscan missionaries who after a long haul across country finally decided "It's not the Promised Land but what the hell this is as good a place as any."

Los Angeles has become America's most happening city, and is home to 'Angelinos', who are famous for their preoccupation with stardom, their healthy lifestyles and their ability to accessorise.

Over-fed, anaemic, tourists come to gaze in awe at these underfed, tanned Angelinos. Los Angeles is also the centre of the film industry and is known to all as 'Hollywood'.
